It’s here! It’s finally arrived! If, like me, you’ve been waiting for weeks now for that “late May” software update, you can turn off your Kindle’s wireless and download the update right now from Amazon’s website.
There are four different versions of the software, but Amazon helpfully shows you how to ID your Kindle model so you can download the correct one.
The process itself could barely be simpler: connect your Kindle to your PC, copy the 2.5.2.bin file onto your Kindle, eject it, and then select “Update my Kindle” from the Settings menu on your Kindle. I’m going to go do it right now…
Why bother with the update, you ask? More font sizes, sharper font display, better handling of PDF files, password protection, and oh yes: you can finally organize your books into folders.
