From the-digital-reader.com comes news that Amazon has rolled out more downloadable game apps for the Kindle platform; with these three latest additions, there are now at least six ways to avoid doing any actual reading on the Kindle. (Seven if you count those online-only old-school text games.)
Kindle veterans might be wondering why Mine Sweeper is one of the “new” games when it’s been baked into the Kindle software since the beginning, but this version is a little fancier than the bare-bones one you can access by pressing Alt+Shift+M (Alt+M on 1st-gen Kindles). This stand-alone version offers three grid sizes, as well as prettier eye candy.
Mine Sweeper is free, but the other two games will cost you. Solitaire is another EA release (they developed the Scrabble
app). For $3.99 you get 12 different solitaire games: the classic Klondike, plus Pyramid, Yukon, Golf, Freecell, Wasp, Peaks, Canfield, Spiderette, Eliminator, Easthaven, and Baker’s Dozen.
Finally, Triple Town a castle-themed strategy game where you attempt to take over the board by combining tiles: “combine three grasses to make a flower, three flowers to make a bush, three bushes to make a tree… until you’ve filled the board with houses, cathedrals and castles.” It’s $2.99.
